QUOTE ESTIMATE GUIDE

To provide you with a more accurate estimate, please include as much of the following information as possible on our Get An Estimate form or by email. If you don't know, that's OK. We'll contact you with questions or to discuss your project. Emailing pictures or drawings can also be useful. Installation or delivery is available for all products. Shop services and will call are available for all products.

Please note: The estimate you receive is based upon the information you provide. All estimates are subject to site inspection and adjustment.

For Broken Window And Door Glass

  • What type of glass (single pane, dual pane, etc.)? If dual pane, are there grids or coatings? 
  • Is the glass in a safety zone that requires tempered glass? 
  • What kind of frame (wood, aluminum or vinyl)? 
  • What holds the glass in the frame? 
  • What is the approximate size? 
  • What is the zip code or address? (Let us know if you would like to bring the frame to our shop.) 
  • Any obstacles to installation (multi-story, blocked access, missing parts)? 

For Shower Doors And Enclosures

  • Is it a swinging door or sliding door? 
  • What is the approximate size? 
  • What is the hardware finish? (Most common are chrome, oil rubbed bronze, and brushed nickel.) 
  • Is the glass clear or obscure? 
  • Would you like a frameless or semi-frameless style? 
  • Has the tile been completed?

For Mirrors

  • What is the approximate size?
  • What thickness would you like? (King's Glass uses high-quality 1/4" thick mirror for most applications. 1/8" or 3/16" is commonly used for medicine cabinets, picture frames and small items.) 
  • Please let us know if the mirror is going in a frame; otherwise, we will polish the sides of the mirror (1/8" excluded).
  • Is safety backing required? (Any mirror hanging on a door, or in a wardrobe door requires safety backing to help prevent serious injury.)
  • What is the zip code or address? (Let us know if you would like to pick up the mirror from our shop.)
  • Any obstacles to installation (multi-story, blocked access, special hours required, etc.)?
  • Please note: Mirrors are commonly installed with mastic and must be placed on a sealed surface. (We cannot install mirrors onto drywall or wood that has not been primed and/or painted.)

For Window Screens

  • Would you like a new screen or rescreen? (For rescreens, please provide approximate size and type of mesh: fiberglass, aluminum, glassine (mylar), pet resistant or solar resistant.)
  • Do you have an existing screen (even if it's bent)?
  • What is the approximate size?
  • What type of mesh would you like (fiberglass, aluminum, glassine (mylar), pet resistant, solar resistant or other)?
  • What hardware do you need for screen installation? (Tabs and flat springs are the most common.)
  • For installation, what is the zip code or address? Any obstacles to installation (multi-story, blocked access)?
  • All of our screens are made from high-quality aluminum framing mitered at a 45-degree angle and reinforced with durable metal corners.

For Door Screens

  • Would you like a new screen door or rescreen? (For rescreens, please provide approximate size and type of mesh: fiberglass, aluminum, glassine (mylar), pet resistant or solar resistant. No other information required.)
  • Does the door swing or slide?
  • What is the approximate size?
  • For sliding doors - we will provide a quote for our wonderfully durable mid-range product (1-3/4" extruded aluminum frame with metal rollers, handle and latch). Please indicate if you would like our top-of-the-line 2-1/2" extruded aluminum frame or our economy roll formed aluminum with nylon rollers, plastic handle and latch.
  • For swinging doors - please indicate door preference from our quality line of swinging doors.
  • For installation, what is the zip code or address? Is there an existing screen door?

For Table Tops and Other Cut Glass

  • What is the approximate size?
  • Are there 4 straight sides? (If not, a pattern may be required.)
  • Would you like raw annealed glass, or tempered safety glass?
  • Is the glass protecting a solid surface or installed in a frame?
  • What thickness would you like? (For table tops: 1/4" is most common for inside applications and 3/16" and 1/4" are commonly used for outdoor. For cut glass, common thickness includes 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2".)
  • Is the glass clear, colored or textured?
  • Do you need a hole (for electrical wires or an umbrella, etc.)?
  • Please let us know if the glass is going in a frame; otherwise, we will polish the sides (1/8" excluded).

For Commercial Services

  • Please provide as much information as possible regarding scope of work required. King's offers products and services of all sizes.
